In this review, we summarized the most important, accessible, and relevant literature published between April 2019 and March 2020 on the gut microbiota in child health. The first part of the review focuses on literature describing changes in microbiota composition in a wide spectrum of pathologies, while the subsequent section focuses on the impact of antimicrobial treatment and nutritional intervention on the pediatric microbiota during early infancy and development.
