Abstract
The last two years have been characterized by the COVID-19 pandemic, which required a massive use of forces to fight it. Due to this issue, the number of scientific articles published on the subject of the relationship between oral microbiota and systemic diseases has undergone a slight contraction. Nevertheless, the continuous development of improved microbiological analysis techniques, most of which include molecular and cultural methods, have allowed researchers to discover or hypothesize some new associations between oral microbiota dysbiosis and an increasing amount of local and systemic diseases. The purpose of this review is to present the scientific evidence, published from April 2021 to March 2022, on the relationships between oral microbiota and systemic pathologies.
